I think this song is about missing out on chances to succeed and to fall in love, etc. and this song is the person who has missed all these good chances lamenting their bad decisions, but trying to reassure themselves that nothing too bad really happened.

I think this is about this guy's ex-girlfriend. About her having a "selective memory", meaning he thinks she's gonna forget about him. I think the opportunities are missed chances to make her stay with him, or to make her fall in love with him. "I’m tired of all the things I should have done instead of staying home." is about the things that they should have done together, to keep the relationship going. Well, that's my opinion, but please don't flame me for it. ^_^

i think basically this song is about ideally keith loving somebody, but they dont like him back. he wishes he was somebody else becuase he has no chance of this girl liking him. the notable quote 'selective memory' suggests keith maybe has selective memory thinking of nothing else but opportunities and being 'buried underneath'. and story of one loves and one doesnt without adherance of noticing.

jt103 is spot on on what i think its about... i dont think its about girls friends or anything and the line "I’ll bet you forget about me" is that this person feels they havent done anything with themselves and the world or whoever will forget about them...

I agree with Gjorgie_Asha this is just a guy whos had a pretty sweet life and is now living on his own but totaly ruining his life p.s. its catch!
