Ridiculous Lyrics

Try not to talk, there's nothing to say.
Kept bottled up, we get carried away.
Then I fall, then I fall down.
Then we fall down.

And you know that it makes me feel so ridiculous.
A pocket full of posies..

We fall down on the inside; pretty on the outside.
Turn it around, can we turn it around?
Try to make a comeback with nowhere to start from now.
But it's looking up.

A second chance, a much better day.
A sunset that just won't go away.
Then I fall, then I fall down.
We all fall down.

And you know that it makes me feel so ridiculous.
A pocket full of posies..

We fall down on the inside; pretty on the outside.
Turn it around, can we turn it around?
Try to make a comeback with nowhere to start from now.
But it's looking up.

And you know you said you'd never end up this way.
Close the door behind you, i just wanna stay for a while.
We all fall down, we all fall down, we all fall..

Down on the inside; pretty on the outside.
Turn it around, can we turn it around?
Try to make a comeback with nowhere to start from now.
But it's looking up.

Down on the inside; pretty on the outside.
Turn it around, can we turn it around?
Try to make a comeback with nowhere to start from now.
But it's looking up.

I think this song is about all the stupid mistakes we can make and still hope for a second chance. and I know, I've made my share.

does anyone else think those weird sounds at the end sound a lot like the sounds at the end of Pink Floyd's "Bike"?

I love when BFS becomes a little more serious. They're great. Which, most of their songs do revolve around a good point, but this one, of course, is more obvious than most. I love Jarret Reddick. :)

I think this has a lot to do with life and the mistakes people make..the quick turns life throws at you.

I think he's singing about being in a perfect world, a world of happiness and one in which everything's going fine, and everyone's "holding hands" and "dancing" around in a circle (with the reference to "pocket full of posies", signifying the "Ashes, Ashes" dance kids always do..) and then all of a sudden, someone slips up and the whole group or relationship "falls down" or collapses. And the rest of the song seems to encompass the process of getting back up, recovering from that blow, or that fall.

He sings "We all fall down" meaning everyone does it, each day, people slip up and say the wrong thing and then have to make up for it, and deal with the consequences somehow. And the next line "down on the inside/pretty on the outside" deals with the cover that people use when this is happening. For instance, someone's hurt or "down on the inside" but they'll put on a front to make sure no one knows..a front that's "pretty" and deceptive.
