Hopeless Lyrics

Lost out on this highway
these high beams, they are blinding me
because I would be there if I was a better man

Even at the end of your driveway
I still feel too far away
because I would be there if I was a better man

'Cause I'm hopeless
but I don't know it
I would I suppose if I was a better man

By midnight I'll be there
but I still think you are an amateur

'Cause I'm hopeless
but I don't know it
I would I suppose if I was a better man

Lost out on this highway
the passing cars, they blind me
because I would be there if I was a better man

Even at the end of the hallway
I still feel so far away
because I would be there if I was a better man

'Cause I'm hopeless
but I don't know it
I would I suppose if I was a better man

I'm hopeless
but I don't know it
I would I suppose if I was a better man
I would I suppose if I was a better man
I would I suppose if I was a better man

Cover art for Hopeless lyrics by Matthew Good

This song is simply amazing. Mr. Good played it when I saw his solo acoustic show and he explained that it was put as a hidden track because his label said it was too country for the album. The twang is perfect for this song, and it frustrates me that it would be disliked for that reason. This is one of my favorite songs by Matthew Good, solo or with the band. I can always trust this song to cheer me up and blow me away.
