I really like the mellow solo Dave sound. It's different from the band stuff, but just as good in it's own way. The song is pretty self-explanatory. I think everybody has brought trouble upon themselves at one time or another, and has just wished that it would go away. Good song.
i think this song is a prayer to God for forgiveness, and 'trouble' is dave's sin. he acknowledges that he was the one who caused the sin ("I confess you came because of me) but he wants God's mercy to shine on him and let him put the sin behind him so he can move on.
Some devil might have a clue that he has done things in his life that he would not be proud of. The cd is darker and talks alot about death and god. This song seems to be someone who is confessing to god about how unworthy that person is.

this song hit me like a tonne of bricks when i was dealing with letting go someone who meant the absolute world to me. Regardless of how many times i would get hurt, i would always want to be with her. There would always be this undying love that would keep me connected to her . She is trouble for me, but i still love her to no end. This songs has a way of reminding me of the pain i went through and the pain that remains still ...
I've read that Trouble is about a couple who are cheating on their significant others and in this instance the guilt is greater than the pleasure of the affair. This song follows the male character through his events with graphic detail.
i like the relationship theme too. it could also possibly be more of a religious one. 'Trouble' being the demons and evils of the world, and its a man confronting these evils then asking for god's forgiveness
