I've Seen That Movie Too Lyrics
I can tell by your eyes, you must be lying
When you think I don't have a clue
Baby you're crazy
If you think that you can fool me
Because I've seen that movie too
PreChorus:
The one where the players are acting surprised
Saying love's just a four letter word
Between forcing smiles
With the knives in their eyes
Oh their actions become so absurd
Chorus:
So keep your auditions for somebody
Who hasn't got so much to lose
'Cause you can tell by the lines I'm reciting
That I've seen that movie too
(2x)
It's a habit I have
I don't get pushed around
Stop twinkling the stars like you do
I'm not a blueprint
For all of your B-films
Because I've seen that movie too
Pre-Chorus

so lovely, but so damn heartbreaking. I actually tear up a little when i hear this. and i'm not one who shows emotion.
oh and the backwards guitar line (or at least i think it's backwards) is the utmost in neato.
My favourite EJ song. I guess the meaning is fairly obvious, using movies as a simile for a love affair where the writer is saying the other party is being dishonest but he can see through it.
@Sunnyhill You hit the nail on the head ... I was going to write mine down, but you summed it up perfectly.

:) And a backward guitar solo, what more could one ask for @sokorny? :)

@Sunnyhill A saxophone solo perhaps? :P

One of the saddest of his songs, of which there are many. Auditions = fake people trying to get close to him either through business or romance. Seems he went through alot of heartbreak and being used, so he not only became stronger but also more cynical. He had to harden his heart a bit to get past it and move forward.
Hopefully not to much. It's hard not to be cynical based off negative things we have experienced. But understandable to keep your guard a little up. But new experiences can always bring new joys. Therefore, you have to be able to open your heart to the possibility of love, otherwise you could be missing out on something wonderful.

@RebeccaLynn I'd say it is about relationships.

Criminally underrated. It's sad but not depressing. One of the best songs off GYBR
The line "I've seen that movie too" was also used in Guns N' Roses' "You Could Be Mine." Probably not a coincidence because "November Rain" was so inspired by Elton John, and Axl was a devoted fan of John despite his homophobia (just like Eminem).
