Headlights Look Like Diamonds Lyrics

The red lights mean you're leaving
The white one's mean returning
Tell me how this story ends
And I'll keep them fires burning

The headlights look like diamonds
The taillights burn like coals
Tell me how this story ends
Before the fires go cold

The countryside's deserted
There's no one on the farms
The suburbs all are sleeping
The earthquakes set off car alarms

All after all now we aware
All after all the time we share
There's so much fears of world,
Hopes of world,
Tears of world

This was the first song Win and Regine wrote together. On their first date too, which is just so adorable I could gag. Anyway, taking this into account, I think some of it points to the beginning of a relationship. I can see where it could relate to a relationship at it's possible end, but considering the context, I think it points to a start. "Tell me how this story ends, And I'll keep them fires burning" seems like one asking another if they see a future together and then further saying they're in as long as the other is. There is also a bit of urgency in saying "before the fires go cold." The last two stanzas are so cryptic though. Could really mean anything.

the red lights are the lights on the back of the car and the white lights are the lights on the front of the car, therefore seeing the taillights means this person (this girl probably) is driving away and vice versa with the headlights. Thats the literal meaning, but the actual meaning I think deals with two people not knowing if they are in love or not and keep breaking up/getting back together.

There's an air of childishness (the "all after all" section sounds quite like a children's song) that lends innocence to the song. The main voice's view on the world is simple, child-like, and wonderful (he compares headlights to diamonds and taillights to coals). The fact that it's talking about such serious things makes it all the better.
