I think this song its about someone who was in a relationship with someone else, but they broke up and now he or she remembers that in his or her dreams.

This is song is amazing. I feel slightly uncomfartable when i think the scene in Blue Velvet with Dennis Hopper and the lipstick.. "DON'T F*CKING LOOK AT ME!"

I agree with vlocko. This may masquerade as a simple love song, but it is really about losing a loved one (as in death).

And the lyrics near the end should be:

I think this song refers to a relative who died. 'Only in dreams we are together'.

i think he says "To end all these things That only happen in my dreams" not "To end all these things And I'll be happy in my dreams"

I love the lipstick scene, where dennis hopper mutters the chorus to him and has the weird hand position by his head.
