I Don't Know What You're Talking About Lyrics

You're a student of the world, learning every day
Surrounded by these walls
Tell me, "Man, I've been around the block"
But you haven't seen it all
I don't know, I don't know
I don't know what you're talking about

Confrontations every day
Argue, then we go our separate ways
Always over as soon as it begins
Know that you're losing when you can't give in
I don't know, I don't know
I don't know what you're talking about

Now you live alone and it's always the same
Talking to yourself when you say that I'm to blame
There's more to life than being right and wrong
There's something in between called getting along
I don't know, I don't know
I don't know what you're talking about

It's a typical "I don't understand you" song more from a parent's point of view than the teenager's. Teens have a tendency to think they know everything they need to know when in fact they do not.

The one line I always remembered was:

“There's more to life than being right and wrong There's something in between called getting along”

Something I wish all the idiot politicians and all the jerks on social media would think of before being so disrespectful when sharing their political views [in such a caustic way - it isn't debating ideas and sharing opinions that is the problem, it's doing it not in the spirit of honest debate and trying to solve problems, but to simply win at all costs, to harm another's reputation and discredit them, and not even consider their point of view].

The media loves nothing more than to make everyone “enraged & engaged” and turn everyone against each other. All for profit - because then people do stupid things like protest violently and riot, which gives the media more material to exploit, showing the spectacle to get more viewers & readers, and charging more to their advertisers.

[Edit: added "in a caustic way" to clarify meaning]

@madscijr Nah. There's no way to "respectfully" hate people because of their gender or sexuality or race or religious beliefs. No way to justify keeping the poor poor and the rich rich, or meaningless wars. Most politics are worth getting angry about. Usually it's the bad people who want people to be "peaceful" and placated and not protest. And of course they hate the media and education.

@DanVitaleRocks You misunderstand me. I'm talking about the corporate owned and controlled media which manipulates the emotions and turns the unwashed masses against each other precisely so they never unite and get strong enough to identify the real "bad people".
