John was a scientist, he was hooked on LSD
Interested in mind control and how the monkey held the key
Said that all life is experiments somebody's planning for the heir
It's for the unexpected citizens who hallucinate in fear.
Sing that.
Chew the backbone,
A solar system, these clever convicts
In union station, with a package in his hand
Tied to the suspect, he chanced him where he stand
And I don't think you realize he's coming for your neck
And the sound is breaking all around
He's keeping lives in check
Chew the backbone, a solar system, these clever convicts
Making his getaway threw a punched out mirror
He blend into the crowd, hear the system scream
And all those spies that strikes your head
Are clinging to their guns
And if you smell those omens man, I think you better run.

This song is about John Lilly, there is no denying that. The whole first verse describes the MKULTRA testing perfectly. As for the second verse and the chorus, your guess is as good as mine. But in the third he mentions the russian spies that Lilly's work was originally spsonsored for (the US wanted to be able to gain control over their minds and pump the spies for info, ironic). Sounds at the end like the spies are comin after him, which checks out with the Cyanide because that is an old KGB technique.
Cyanide (a really nasty toxic gas that kills everything it touches in a few seconds) is supposed to smell of almonds, maybe that's what that line's about. John does seem to be kind of homicidal.
This song is sooo cool!...I was once singing the first line in a class, we had our German teacher as a cover...when I sang "LSD" these 2 kids both go "What?!!" and my teacher glared at me ferociously...I decided not to notice, and instead replied to the kids - "It's a song!" Was very funny
if would help if once in a while we got accurate lyrics posted
And if you smell those almonds man, I think you better run.
I don't think John's the only one on LSD...
This is a good song..Doesn't compare with Club Foot and Reason Is Treason but hey, what u gonna do?
I agree with princessskate...defo a song bout getting high. But it's also about being so stoned that you start to believe the crazy stuff that you think about under influence. It's just this time, John decided to take these actions seriously....TOO seriously!!
i love kasabian, whoever the singer is, i love him. i really want to see them in concert. such a cool song...frozen fire, the best song to sing out loud to get people pissed off is rape me by nirvana, that always gets people going.
i agree about rape me! and the singer is Tom Meighan =D

Iv wrote the whole song out on what i think it is, not because i think the lyrics are wrong at the top,but purly because i wanted to =D

Believe this one refers to a fucked up scientist who hears voices telling him to bomb a tube station. Might be wrong.
