to me this song is about somebody who is constantly being totured and wishes nothing more but for death to come to free him from the pain. he dreams of being buried and free from pain but everytime that darkness falls he does not see God. This causes him to lose any hope that he had as he continues to swear he should be dead yet he continues to stay alive. so he turns his attention to his tormentor and swears revenge to do upon him as his tormentor has done to him as that hatred is all he has left.
Great song with a fantastic tone to it. You can here later trivium out of this song like light to flies like metal head said. Its dark real dark in a good way
i thought it was about someone who was trapped in what he considered hell. and he can see a world that he much better then where he is now. realizing he can never enjoy this paradise he sees, he wants the torture ended
My favorite part of this song is when he says: "It's so beautiful" for the first time (guitar riff in the left ear stays stopped). <3
suppose someone has kidnapped and enchained you in a place. torturing you and abusing you in a greater level. you used to have hope that someday you'll be free and will be able to go to the beautiful world outside of your cell. you pray to god but all in vain. you found out that god won't appear when everything is ending. so,you have no hope anymore to live. all you want is to die. but there is another thing. if you had got the chance to do something to your tormentor,you would just kill him. all you want is to take his life making him bleed just like you. that's what you would say if you were the person of this song. at the end of the song,all light is dying. everything is ending with your life.

This song is about a broken down child waiting for God to save him from the misery he is being put through, but then realizes that there is no god.
it's about someone trapped in a holding cell obviously. talking about how he gazes at the outside world and how beautiful it is. at the end where he's talking about killing "you", i think he must be talking about the person that put him in solitude.
