TRIVIUM IS THE NEXT METALLICA Every one of Triviums songs have a powerful message. This song to me means the world today is so fucked up and corrupted. The pillars that surround them are like a place where they go in there minds/wherever to get away from the everyday bullshit. Thats what I take from the song =)
HO ho man!!!! I love this song. I used to blast it as I pulled into the parking lot at work, only one person out of hundreds who looked gave a smile and mouthed "TriViuM." But that one true fan made it SO worth it. I love trivium.

TRIVIUM IS NOT THE NEXT METALLICA. They will not sell 100 million records unless they drastically change their sound. IMO, they are going to be HUGE though. I really love them and have seen them twice now. They are unbelievably gifted at guitar and have the heaviest sound I've heard in awhie.
My favorite part of the song is the "Give me spark, to light the world, up in flames, reignite." Love the vocals and the guitar riff underneath it. This song has a kickass intro as well.

trivium is kick ass. and no they arent the next metallica. they are greater than metallica not on the fan number basis but because they are unique to a new style of metal and i feel that metal will be pulled into a better direction instead of being entirely diluted with screaming. i like screaming but it is getting old now.
My Opinion Is: "the speaker of this song is saying that the present world is built on sin and totally corrupted. there is no independence of speaking. that's why he tells to shut his fellows' mouth. they hide from the governing cause they are the ones rebelling (to be unseen-with the eyes-for it's the ground that we lie on). at last the person wants a spark to light the world up in flames to change the world to better times. thus he tells to destroy the pillars of serpents (it's a symbolic word meaning the dictators) and make it over."
