The Black Panther Song Lyrics

Mr. Black Panther Party, are you ready for me? After 25 years of silence, can you see me? I hate the cops about as much as you, and if you'll stand up for me, I'll stand up for you. We'll go marching arm in arm, we dont mean no harm, we're just protecting our rights from you know who. I'll bet my last dollar I can do more than holler, I can take a couple punches from those boys in blue. I bet that we can do it right this time.

Obviously, it's about someone(maybe even Rymo himself) trying to get into the Black Panthers.

Still, the song's fun as hell.

I thought you said Rambo.

actually, I don't think it's about getting into the black panthers, I think it's a song about solidarity with the black panthers. the black panther party has been defunct for some time now, so i doubt this song is about the songwriter himself, but perhaps from the perspective of a white 60's radical, like those in SDS who often aligned themselves with the Black Panthers as being part of the same struggle.

negatyve is right about this song. If the black panthers didn't confine themselves they could have been that much stronger.

i think its about unity. standing together and protecting your rights. uniting under the same cause.

Rymo himself said it was about him trying to join the Black Panther Party. After three years of no response he got a letter saying no. Haha.
