Such a beautiful song...about a relationship where the couple is always back where they started no matter what they try. They go around in circles about everything and always end up at the beginning. It doesn't mean you're broken hearted...it just means that you can't get anywhere farther than the beginning.
I interpreted this as a couple who both finally got over a break-up. the guy wanting more with her or just coming back into her life & she doesn't want back in a relatioinship. they're finally at a point where they can be around each other without feeling anything. & shes obviously afraid to feel anymore so they both need to be friends.
