Necrotism: Decanting the Insalubrious (Cyborg Midnight) Part 7 Lyrics
im wasted as my time
spent sitting idly by
drinking in this shithole
while you all went out outside
its a great day to fall asleep
its a kick-ass day to dream
that im still capable
of saying what I mean
the times are changing
but we all stayed the same
we faded and faded
now nothing remains
as we breathe our last breaths
and kiss our goodbyes
remember us buried alive
im wasted as
these city blocks
these blockbusters
and parking lots
as faded as
this parking space
sealed up
to see what rots
the times are changing
but we all stayed the same
we faded and faded
now nothing remains
hold on
this ship is sinking and
i dont know what to do
if we die in fire and water
then i want to be with you
oh captain my captain
i fought hard
til everything was lost
no fortune did i seek
remember, remember, remember
us buried in the deep
spent sitting idly by
drinking in this shithole
while you all went out outside
its a great day to fall asleep
its a kick-ass day to dream
that im still capable
of saying what I mean
but we all stayed the same
we faded and faded
now nothing remains
as we breathe our last breaths
and kiss our goodbyes
remember us buried alive
these city blocks
these blockbusters
and parking lots
as faded as
this parking space
sealed up
to see what rots
but we all stayed the same
we faded and faded
now nothing remains
this ship is sinking and
i dont know what to do
if we die in fire and water
then i want to be with you
i fought hard
til everything was lost
no fortune did i seek
remember, remember, remember
us buried in the deep

best song on the "rock against bush vol. 2" compilation.
the title is fucking genius.
This song makes me think of the veterans, who fought for a better future, and how this world is not what they wanted.
man this song kicks ass.. cant wait to c them with ANTI-FLAG that shows going to go off got tix today
oh captain my captain is a book
Apparantly it's a poem too, which is kind of cool. Not sure if this is what bren's referring to, but the lyrics are sweet and I think it's about Abe Lincoln's death. Here's a link to the poem.

saw these guys with anti flag, they have amazing energy on stage and they finished the set with this track the crowd went NUTS
Yeah, in May in Germany they finished their set with this song, as well - AMAZING! The link (by GetDead) to the poem doesn't work, I think.
"im wasted as my time spent sitting idly by drinking in this shithole while you all went out outside its a great day to fall asleep its a kick-ass day to dream that im still capable of saying what I mean"
brendans drunk (wow), depressed, and wants nothing more than to sit away from the crowd and think about things. he's spent so much time spreading anti-bush messages that he wonders if they even hold any meaning anymore.
"the times are changing but we all stayed the same we faded and faded now nothing remains as we breathe our last breaths and kiss our goodbyes remember us buried alive"
things in life often change, regardless of what we had in mind. it's when we struggle to keep our own plans depsite the fact that the planmaking is outside of our control that we 'fade.'
reminds me of a group of friends that stayed together and stayed the same, and faded, by not changing with the times, things grew repetetive, and things fell apart...
that last seven or eight lines that is.
This is one of the most amazing songs I've ever heard. It's safe to say the lawrence arms are my favorite band! So much in fact I got a lot of the words to this song tattoed on me. Definitly my favorite song from the lawrence arms along with boatless booze cruise which still haven't played the 10 or 11 times I've seen them. I have yet to hear a bad song from the lawrence arms. Brendan Kelly is a god!
