Crazed Institution Lyrics
Just a little touch of make-up; just a little touch of bull;
just a little 3-chord trick embedded in your platform soul;
you can wear a gold Piaget on your Semaphore wrist;
you can dance the old adage with a dapper new twist.
And you can ring a crown of roses round your cranium,
live and die upon your cross of platinum.
Join the crazed institution of the stars.
Be the man that you think (know) you really are.
Crawl inside your major triad, curl up and laugh
as your agent scores another front page photograph.
Is it them or is it you throwing dice inside the loo
awaiting someone else to pull the chain.
Well grab the old bog-handle, hold your breath and light a candle.
Clear your throat and pray for rain to irrigate the corridors that echo in
your brain filled with empty nothingness, empty hunger pains.
And you can ring a crown of roses round your cranium,
live and die upon your cross of platinum.
Join the crazed institution of the stars.

Famous one minute, then replaced by the next big thing. The song is about how we can quickly lose interest in something or someone and go on to something else. This is the second best song on the album after the title track.
We'll it's a bit of a crazy world I live in - With everything dressed up like a show. I'm not sure who may get flushed - But I've got a feeling I'm really on my own. Just maybe if I find my way through all this illusion - I'll at last be who I want to be.

Picture yourself a rock star. You've just made it to the top. The top of what your not sure. While looking out at your fans your even more confused. But nonetheless your all dressed up for your performance. If it goes well, Great! We live another day. But if they hate you; get ready to be yesterdays news. So I say to you (join us fool) if you can. Because this is fun.
All about the "crazed" life of a rock star as viewed from the inside. Brings out the contrast between being a flashy entertainer who feels something like a sideshow performer who knows how to perform all the stage tricks and stunts to entertain the crowd, but sees the phony, superficial nature of it all. His agent delivers him another front page and he owns the spotlight. Beneath the surface, he feels like he is living in a stinking "loo" or bathroom with an empty mind full of hunger pains. He has the fame that the rest of the world imagines must seem like the pinnacle of existence, but it means nothing to him. The world may think that he is "the man", but he doesn't believe it himself, because he knows how fake and insane it all is.
anyone wanna enlighten me?
Well, there is the fact that the ending was better than either of these, but other than that...
