How Your Halo Fell Lyrics
You wake up in the moning
You punch the clock before you ever rub your eyes
And all the breath you're taking in is spent up on
Some distant longing sigh
Remember when we traded in
Our dreams for drabbest gray?
For dresses and these stupid suits and ties?
I know that you've had enough
I know that we've both grown up
But something sweet inside of you has died
I know how your halo fell
I saw you bid your heart farewell
You sealed your lips, you'd never tell
But I know how your halo...
Down... town, is miserable, blocking out these periwinkle skies
And somewhere in the midst of this you bite
Your lip and say your sad goodbyes
I am not the best with words
I wish I had a better speech
I know that there's all the reason in the world for you to hate me
Corazon
This Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ
It tells you that He loves you more
Than thirst compels us all to ever wet our lips
If you could only hear...

I think this is a song about two married Christians, who seem to have lost the excitment in their marriage because one or the other has failed to keep Jesus in mind foremost. In a sense, they forgot to be childlike as God has called us to be.
Hmm, close, but I disagree slightly. I think Reese (the singer) is talking to a girl that he was engaged with a few years ago, but they broke up before they got married. Since then, Reese married another girl. I think this song is about Reese meeting his ex fiance, and realizing all these things that's happened to her since they split. He realizes that she's lost all the beautiful things in her she used to love, and that she's fallen pretty far from God as well. Now, I could be wrong, but that's my hypothesis.
I think you're right. I love this song. Reese is such a good writer and vocalist
I don't think this song is written to tell just one person something. I think he wants everyone who hears it to know that you should'ent loose the good with the bad as you get older, and God wants us to know that He loves us no matter what.
right on clutter...i bet that demonhunter was right specifically that that is where the inspiration of the song came from but its for anyone...just hold on to your faith or watch urself fall apart
