It mean we find hell here while we are alive. It questions how our "souls" can be judged for damnation if all we say and do is caused by the physical and chemical mechanisms of our brain and not some mysterious soul making our decisions or some devil leading us to temtation. It means if I had just one moment where heaven could show me that im wrong about the world, then i would try and live my life as if death wasnt the absolute end.
