this is properly about a girl who has too much pain in her n cant really tell anyone as they wont understand so she puts a smile on her face and acts that everything is fine
(Gosh, this song certainly hits home for me) It is about another relationship broken and pride not allowing you to show how much the rejection really hurts. Even though she refuses to express her pain, one strong and hopeful quality is that she is "not about to sit around, let [herself] go".
