I believe the song speaks of losing control, being in love, and enjoying it. Disconnecting the dots would mean giving into chaos, disordering a figure, setting the dots loose. Still a game though, the lunacy of love. Poppet is such a cute nickname.

Maybe it's a song that isn't about drugs. If so many other songs on the album are about them, maybe when you disconnect the dots and traditional composition of an album, not everything has to have this intense deeper meaning and sometimes a pretty song is just a pretty song and it doesn't have to join up with some bigger picture. Sometimes an album should have an open-ended meaning and there's a clean slate with no lines connecting the dots and it's about possibility and that no one is quite wrong or quite right when thinking about it.

Poppet is a pet name, old English in origin. Back in the day, it was another word for 'puppet'. This song is sweet though. It makes me want to laugh and dance and look at the stars.

Does anyone have an idea what could be meant by 'disconnect the dots', I keep thinking it's a metaphor for something big but I can't figure it out. I love this song however, I agree with all the comments, it's so sweet ^^
