Has Been Lyrics

Has been
Has been
Has been
You talking to me
You talking to me
You calling me has been

What you say your name is
Jack, never done Jack
Glad to meet you, who's your friend
Dick, don't say Dick
What do yo know
And you friend, what's your handle
Don, two thumbs Don

Writing on their armchairs
They dream of wealth and fame
Fear is their companion
Nintendo is their game
Never done Jack
And two thumbs Don
And sidekick don't say Dick
We'll laugh at others failures
Though they have not done shit

I've heard of you
The ready made
Connecting with the ever ready
Yeah, never was talking about still trying
I got it, forever bitter
Gossiping about never say die
May I inquire what you've been doing mister

Jack, never done Jack
And you partner, what's the news of the world
Dick, I don't say Dick
Don, of all the people
You must be the tattler
Two thumbs up

What are you afraid of, failure
So am I
Has been
Has been
Has been implies failure (has been)
Not so
Has been's history (has been)
Has been was
Has been might again

This sing means so much to me! It really vocalises some thoughts in my mind, about people who just bitch about how people are doing everything wrong, yet never try anything themselves. Society is so lazy and critical that people have nothing better to do than bitch about other people and it bugs me. There are way too many Jacks, Dicks and Dons in this world.

Critics are simply people who didn't have the guts or the talent to do things themselves. Love ya Shatner man...

This song is inspiring. It talks about how people will call someone a "Has Been" when they themselves have never done anything worthy of ever being a "Has Been". "They laugh at others' failures though they have not done shit." They themselves have no accomplishments to be proud of so they put down people who have. Once you've made it and you're in a slump, remember that you still possess that talent that helped you achieve your accomplishments the first time so you can make new accomplishments again in the future. William Shatner has done this brilliantly! Typecast as Captain Kirk on Star Trek, he went on to play many other roles and voiced characters in children's films creating a whole new target audience of fans. Well done, Mr. Shatner! :-)
