Consequences David, You'll Meet Your Fate In The Styx Lyrics
Talk to me David, how can I help?
You see you sold me quick fixes in the past
I keep them in the medicine cabinet,
but you should see what I keep in my closet
Talk to me, talk to me, talk to me, talk to me.
Pardon the altitude, David
Talk to me, talk to me, talk to me, talk to me.
Pardon the altitude, David
My head flies high,
The birds think I’m one of their own
The birds thank God..
The birds thank God to be alive.
Talk to me, talk to me, talk to me, talk to me.
Pardon the altitude, David
The battle of me versus me.
battle of me versus me
and no one wins
you see again.
The battle of me versus me.
The battle of me versus me
and no one wins
you see again.
The battle of me versus me
and no one wins you see.
Talk to me, talk to me, talk to me, talk to me.
Oh yeah, David.
The birds think I’m one of their own.
The birds thank God...
Talk to me, talk to me, talk to me, talk to me x2
You see you sold me quick fixes in the past

First of all, i can't believe no one has posted anything for this song. FEARB4 kicks ass, saw them in Philly the other night...and i'm from NYC.
Anyway, onto the song meaning...I think this song is about the Singer (David) and possible demons he has/had. the line "You see you sold me quick fixes in the past" is a reference to drugs or anything to "help" himself. I really like how the song is done from the point of view of his conscience or some inner part of himself. "Talk to me, talk to me, talk to me, talk to me. Pardon the altitude, David" on second thought i think it is about drug abuse. Possibly perscription drugs...maybe for depression or something worse " keep them in the medicine cabinet, but you should see what I keep in my closet" skisophrenia? "The battle of me versus me and no one wins you see again" Not sure about that. But Anywho This band kicks ass. Can't wait to see them again.
FBTMOF is simply amazing. they went to my school (in CO) and their home shows are awesome. "the battle of me versus me"...dealing with his inner demons, so to speak. "pardon the altitude" may be literal...'tis the mile high city.
Since motelrool.grandpiano is not on here. Dave has arachnophobia.
Alright, well at first I thought this was coincidence (this doesnt have anything to do with the meaning really), but I was watching the movie Vanilla Sky the other day and in the movie someone says to Tom Cruise, Consequences David and at first I thought it was coincidence. Then I remembered another song by them called, Sarah Goldfarb, Where are Your Manners? (Requiem for a Dream reference for all you good movie deprived bastards) and I realized they had to be makings some reference to the movie. Iunno, this might be coincidence, but still, pretty cool if not.
yeah your actually correct. Fear Before refers to a lot of weird movies in their song titles and lyrics. Requiem for a Dream (great movie btw, Jared Leto is in another great movie if ya know what i mean.) and Vanilla Sky and Jaws are some movies they quote.

the pardon the altitude part sounds like hes on an acid trip and thinks that hes flying or somthing of the sorts.
yeah i agree with everyone. as for the whole "the battle of me versus me and no one wins" i think he is having some sort of battle with his conscious and no part is winning. its kind of hard to explain it.
and yes, FBtMoF kicks ass!
its about an online test dave took, that "dantes inferno: levels of hell" test.
yeaop yeaop
its about an online test dave took, that "dantes inferno: levels of hell" test. he scored level 4, "the river of styx", and anyone that gets that answer/result, it'll read "beware, you'll meet your fate in the styx".
yeaop yeaop
Ok, again i could be compleatly off, but to me, this song is about facing your fears, in this case, Hights. Its simple really,
"Pardon the altitude david" and "battle of me v.s. me"
