I Love a Rainy Night

How, on a rainy night with overcast skies, can there be a moonlight shadow? I'm just saying...

Seriously...I hate country music. But I can listen to this. Heard it on San Andreas after getting on a bike in the badlands.

I always liked Eddie (RIP), and this song is just so special. It's sweet and upbeat, and who does not like a beautiful rainy night. (I'm sure there are some who don't, but its only because they haven't taken the time to sit still and listen to the sounds of a gentle rain on a windowpane. It's so soothing and cleansing.) After the rain, the sun rises and sometimes we're blessed with gorgeous rainbows. (Still waiting for that dang pot of gold at the end, though:)

It's just a sweet song, and for those of us who LOVE the sound of rain it's a perfect track. I watched him sing this on television many many years ago when I thought I detested country music. he was the first country singer who made me stop and listen...

Eddie Rabbitt was the one and only country singer I liked as I was growing up in a great state filled with down-to-earth people who lived a slow life, but always hoped for even more. He had the looks, the voice, and the down-to-earth personality that was marketable. This is not my favorite of his songs, but it was one of his most popular. And I love a rainy night. I love to walk outside in the rain by the light of the lamppost and whatever moon may be seen, and just let the water hit my face and body. I concentrate on each drop I feel hit my skin, and they remind me how good it feels to be alive. The world seems quieter when it rains at night, and it's easy to envision all the fears and worries from the day being rinsed away. And if I didn't have neighbors that would strongly object, I'd strip down and dance to the sound of the rain hitting the trees and forming puddles. There is little better than the combination of music and nature, and sometimes nature alone creates its own beautiful song. Good song, although not his best.
