Texas Flood Lyrics
All of the telephone lines are down
Well there's floodin' down in Texas
All of the telephone lines are down
And I've been tryin' to call my baby
Lord and I can't get a single sound
Man I'm standin' out in the rain
Well dark clouds are rollin' in
Man I'm standin' out in the rain
Yeah flood water keep a rollin'
Man it's about to drive poor me insane
Lord and I'm goin' back home to stay
Well I'm leavin' you baby
Lord and I'm goin' back home to stay
Well back home are no floods or tornados
Baby and the sun shines every day
The lyrics are secondary. SRV just used this song as a vehicle for an extended blues solo - and what a great solo it is! It rates in my top 10 electric blues solos ever. Jimi gets #1 but which song, there's too much choice?
Simply one of the greatest solos ever. This is a great song.
Where are the rest of the comments? This song is fucking revolutionary. Come on.
Greatness is often overlooked. SRV's a legend.
undoubtably... this is one of the best songs ever....
I love this song. One of my favorites, it reminds me of "Couldn't Stand the Weather" just cause of the water (flood)
whatever happeend to SRV?
He died in a helicopter crash on August 26, 1990. Every true Stevie fan knows that.
