You Know I'm Right Lyrics
You can scream and shout with all your might
Dig in your heels and hold on tight
Either you are wrong or I am right
You speak the lines you've overheard
The ring of truth in every word
You know you're right and that's absurd
We really seem to have a problem here
But it is you or me
Whatever I have going through my mind
You always have to disagree
It's just a matter of opinions
It's not a simple fact
Why don't you try to see the other side
Don't turn your back
Now we survey this silent battleground
Recriminations all around
And still no compromise is found
Now we really have a problem
And it won't just disappear
And all the friends we thought we could rely on
Just want to whisper in my ear
"It's just a matter of opinions
You know you keep both in sight
Why should you bother with the other side
When you know yours is right."

This song is aimed at Roger Waters. David Gilmour and him both "knew" they were right, and both tried to prove it. It should be said that Waters' never wrote a reply, which I feel is cool, and certainly more mature. ^_~
@BleedingHeartArtist I think you may be a fellow Waters fan like me, considering your name. Is it a reference to the lyrics 'The bleeding hearts and artists take their stand' from 'Outside The Wall', a reference to the Bleeding Heart Band or something else?

in complete accord with you ... but sometimes its better to expess your genuine thought than to keep it inside .Anyway , a great song with perfect lyrics whatever that was written for and of course Dave's voice is as usual great .
This song was written about my September 1983 trip to England in order to talk with Pete Townshend. About the song "Athena" performed by the Who being written about my poster "Athena."
Two days after my meeting with Townshend, I spent a 2 hour plus bus ride from Bristol to London's Gatwick airport, on the same bus with David Gilmour, Paul and Linda McCartney.
I know that I am right about The Who performing the song "Athena" about my poster, unfortunately the public does not.
These lines were written about what transpired on the bus ride.
"Now we survey this silent battleground Recriminations all around And still no compromise is found"
The next two lines are asking me the question, why did I need to fly to England in to talk with Townshend knowing that I was right? Because nobody would believe me!
"Why should you bother with the other side When you know yours is right."
Prove that story asshole kerrywilbury! fuckface dickhead
@Nels4r2 Wow! Without examining any of the evidence to back up the story. You immediately jump to name calling. Your ad hominem attacks prove nothing. And have nothing at all to do with the subject at hand.

@Nels4r2 While I agree the story sounds very unlikely (why would someone who has met Townshend, Gilmour, McCartney and so on be on this website writing things about songs?), I don't think jumping to name calling is very... lets say mature
