My Hometown Lyrics
...2...3...This song goes out to my good friends
Especially the ones I had before the Grammy Nominations in 2003
And to all the girls from back in high school
Who actually spoke to me even though I was a fat kid and a marching band geek
I hope this song finds you well
And I hope that your doin fuckin swell
I hope that you're back up if you've ever been down
And I hope you got the fuck out of our hometown!
Here comes a shout-out to the professor
Who said, "Son, pick a path and stay the same, cause charisma is the key to opportunity."
And to all the clubs that let us play
To our family and friends and the music stores for giving us gear when we couldn't pay.
I hope this song finds you well
And I hope that your doin fuckin swell
I hope that you're back up if you've ever been down
And I hope you got the fuck out of our town!
You know I can't count how many times I've heard people say
(heard people say)
be proud of where you're from, you're gonna put us on the map
But where the hell were you back in the day?
(back in the day)
No one came to see us so we got the hell out of there, so there.
You have a d-d-d-d-d-d dis song goes out to my big brother
For putting up with me following you around
And for making me smile when things at home weren't great
And for not getting pissed when I humped your girlfriend
For letting me take your car to the prom
For beating up the guys that hung my bike in a tree
For hand-me-down albums and guitar with no strings
And for never beating the shit outta me!
I hope this song finds you well
And I hope that you're doin fucking swell
I hope that you're back up cause I know you've been down
I just wish you'd get the fuck out of our hometown!
I hope you get the fuck out of our hometown!
I'm so glad I got the fuck out of our hometown!
You know what I'm talking about, dontcha? Dammit!
Especially the ones I had before the Grammy Nominations in 2003

no he does say fat kid if you listen real hard cause i thought it was faggot at first too..
God, what is wrong with you people? Not only is it obviously "fat kid," but "faggot" wouldn't make any sense in the context of the lyric.
Not to mention that BfS would never casually use such a loaded epithet in a song.
I would of put Faggot, but I listened hard, and live when I saw them, and it's Fat Kid.
According to my substitute teacher (his name is Mr. Reddick, he's the lead singer's father by the way), this song is about how he really hated Wichita Falls and wanted to get out of there. This is to thank everyone that helped him do that. You can find out some interesting stuff when you know a band member's dad.
this song is funny! ACWRo9 thanks for that....it's confirmed my thoughts :)....when BFS did this live it was so cool! everyone went crazy!
This song is talking about how people in their hometown thought that they were crap when they started but now that they are famous everyone is saying "Remember where you came from?... Remember who supported you when no one went to your shows?" The song says that this is hypocritical and bullshit.
isn't it faggot instead of fat kid?
ya its not supposed to be fat kid
And to all the girls from back in high school Who actually spoke to me even though I was a fat kid and a marching band geek
It is faggot. And I don't float that way but I feel the same way about all the ladies that hung out with me in high school. Your true friends in high school are amazing people. All the drama and what-not.
