All the time we spent in bed
Counting miles before we said
Fall in love and fall apart
Things will end before they start

Sleeping on Lake Michigan
Factories and marching bands
Lose our clothes in summertime
Lose ourselves to lose our minds

In the summer heat I might

    A very beautiful song.

"All the time we spent in bed Counting miles before we set Fall in love and fall apart Things will end before they start"

Him and his lover are lying in bed talking about their future, and where they will end up. It's the organic feeling of complete relaxation. When you are lying there with your partner you have no worries on your mind whatsoever. You can transcend through time and space without the worries of everyday. So it that situation, you two profess your undying love to eachother and remark on the beautiful future you both want.

The last two lines mean that before they ever get around to accomplishing their "perfect" dreams trouble will rear it's ugly head.

"Sleeping on Lake Michigan Factories and marching bands Lose our clothes in summer time Lose ourselves to lose our minds In the summer heat, I might"

The most important lines here are "Lose ourselves to lose our minds, In the summer heat, I might."

It tells us that even though they accept that their future may not be the paradise they wish they still go on and pretend anyways. Thus they are losing their minds. But they don't care. Because they love each other.

    Brilliant Song.
