White Lies, Yellow Teeth Lyrics
You went out for a walk
I'm sure you went a long ways
Sorting things out in our heads
We'll forget in a few days
In the place before you're made
They give you all these options
Like if you've got wings
Or have you got feelings
Or can you breathe underwater?
He chose lifting ten times his weight
And natural body armor
And then on the day his mother gave
He came out as an insect
People talk in soda pop
They talk it quite a lot
The opinions that I don't give
Are the opinions I don't got
White lies fall off my yellow teeth,
I didn't convince you but I believed
White lies fall off my yellow teeth
I didn't convince you but I believed
white lies fall off my yellow teeth
I didn't convince you but I believed
All so plain it's all a plan
It's all so true of everyone
The sky does not ever end
The air just gets much thinner
I knew a man who went on and on
About how he knew a man who knew a man
Who knew a man who knew him once
You can keep digging down and down inside
And even turn around or find in hell
You're digging up again
Some hippie told me, "Free your pets"
So I let them all go free
It didn't take no time at all
For them to run on back to me
I'm sure you went a long ways
Sorting things out in our heads
We'll forget in a few days
They give you all these options
Like if you've got wings
Or have you got feelings
Or can you breathe underwater?
And natural body armor
And then on the day his mother gave
He came out as an insect
They talk it quite a lot
The opinions that I don't give
Are the opinions I don't got
I didn't convince you but I believed
White lies fall off my yellow teeth
I didn't convince you but I believed
white lies fall off my yellow teeth
I didn't convince you but I believed
It's all so true of everyone
The sky does not ever end
The air just gets much thinner
About how he knew a man who knew a man
Who knew a man who knew him once
You can keep digging down and down inside
And even turn around or find in hell
You're digging up again
So I let them all go free
It didn't take no time at all
For them to run on back to me

i'm not sure if these lyrics are 100% correct, but i did my best. this song is amazinggg. not on any cd, i don't think. but check it out.
These sound right to me, nice work.
This song is really really good - I would place it somewhere near Fruit that Ate Itself.
This is my favorite time period of modest mouse, and a really good song from it!
oh crap...the only Modest Mouse song i havent ever heard of...
"about how he knew a man who knew a man who knew a man who knew him once you can keep diggin down and down inside and even turn around or find in hell" ...i think this is on a live recording i have of "3rd Planet" mabe it was split to form two different songs though , the live version doesnt have most of the song, so i am guessin that is right..anyways, it isnt in the version on the cd, and is pretty much just some rambling that isaac does somewhere near the end, so..yeah..if anyone cares to know all of that..
This is a great song!
"its all so plain its all a plan its all so true of everyone the sky does not ever end the air just gets much thinner"
Those lyrics appear in a few Modest Mouse songs...like Willful Suspension of Disbelief..which is where they are most apparent.
Modest Mouse has a way with doing that. They are always keen on taking parts from songs and placing them throughout others. Its great.
this is such a good modest mouse song! i dont think its on a cd either.
and oh man, kid above me. i realized that on a trip to california. its awesome! at first i didnt like it, but then i realized how cool it was.
"he chose lifting 10 times his weight and natural body armor and then on the day his mother gave he came out as an insect "
Read the comments in the Doin' The Cockroach page to understand this line.
i think this song is how ur exspected to be so great in life and how you tell other people how good your doing when your really not.
I put this song after LCW chronologically. Although it has lyrics from "Willful suspension of disbelief", it isn't the same playing style. Around 1997 Isaac loved palm muting his guitar and just playing dead notes. It's played almost the same way as Doin the Cockroach.
i absouletly love this song one of my top 5 MM songs. I think the lyrics are trying to say that everything is fine the way it is. Best line- people talk in soda pop they talk it quite a lot the opinions that i dont give are the opinions i dont got
