When the War is Over Lyrics
Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away,
Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away
When the war is over, Got to get away
Pack my bags to no place, in no time, no day
You and I we used each other's shoulder
Still so young but somehow so much older
How can I go home and not get blown away?
Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away,
Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away
When the war is over got to start again
Try to hold a trace of what it was back then
All around this chaos and madness
Can't help feeling nothing more than sadness
Only choice to face it the best I can
Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away,
Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away
You and I we sent each other stories
Just a page I'm lost in all its glories
How can I go home and not get blown away
Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away
Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away
Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away
Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away
Pack my bags to no place, in no time, no day
You and I we used each other's shoulder
Still so young but somehow so much older
How can I go home and not get blown away?
Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away
Try to hold a trace of what it was back then
All around this chaos and madness
Can't help feeling nothing more than sadness
Only choice to face it the best I can
Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away
Just a page I'm lost in all its glories
How can I go home and not get blown away
Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away
Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away

I didn't think covers could get any worse than Avril Lavigne's version of Knockin' on Heaven's Door. This song has proved me wrong. Like all manufactured pop stars, this bitch is incapable of writing her own songs, so she 'sings' (tunelessly screeches) someone else's. Cold Chisel must have played this classic ballad 500+ times, and they have never come close to making it sound this bad. John Farnham's cover is nothing compared to Chisel, but even it is infinitely better than this version.
i strongly agree.
