The Letter Song Lyrics
I have been thinking, which I shouldn't do
Cause it gets me in trouble and farther from you
I don't want a sentimental
Short and sweet and confidential Goodbye
My thoughts belong in a book in a store
Where they're silently read, but spoken no more
I didn't give my all and to be honest with you
I didn't even try
Well I want you back so bad
I'm gonna change the way I'm acting
I'm gonna change and I'm so glad
I'm gonna write you a letter
So much for the better
And if it goes my way
I'll have you running back to me
I'm a natural born forgetter
So much for the better
I can be romantic
I just got to try to be
I have been thinking, again this is bad
It seems that my thinking can drive you quite mad
But you can't say there's another word, though
To call this feeling in my heart
I admit I take advice from more romantic minds
But I can proudly reassure you this idea was all mine
I'm gonna write you a letter
So much for the better
And if it goes my way
I'll have you running back to me
I'm a natural born forgetter
So much for the better
I can be romantic
I just got to try to be
I admit I take advice from more romantic minds
But I can proudly reassure you this idea was all mine
I'm gonna write you a letter
So much for the better
And if it goes my way
I'll have you running back to me
I'm a natural born forgetter
So much for the better
I can be romantic
I just got to try to be
I can be romantic, I just got to try to be
I can be romantic, I just got to try to be
Cause it gets me in trouble and farther from you
Short and sweet and confidential Goodbye
Where they're silently read, but spoken no more
I didn't even try
I'm gonna change the way I'm acting
I'm gonna change and I'm so glad
So much for the better
And if it goes my way
I'll have you running back to me
So much for the better
I can be romantic
I just got to try to be
It seems that my thinking can drive you quite mad
To call this feeling in my heart
But I can proudly reassure you this idea was all mine
So much for the better
And if it goes my way
I'll have you running back to me
So much for the better
I can be romantic
I just got to try to be
But I can proudly reassure you this idea was all mine
So much for the better
And if it goes my way
I'll have you running back to me
So much for the better
I can be romantic
I just got to try to be
I can be romantic, I just got to try to be

I love you Ty. Enough said. Your songs are wonderful.

wow... this song reminds me so much of the situation my Ex and i are going through now.. crazy.. but it's a nice song.
this tune is one of my favorites from tyler hilton. it just makes you happy.. great for summertime road trips, or just when you need a little pick-me-up.
the song is about him kinda being in the doghouse for not putting enough heart into his relationship. he's trying to win her back with a love letter, and he's hoping she'll forgive him.
"I admit I take advice from more romantic minds, But I can proudly reassure you this idea was all mine. I'm gonna write you a letter"
...he's so proud of himself, who wouldn't forgive him? and it's a little silly because he thinks that this single act is exactly what she's looking for.
also, i wonder what it is that he was thinking about that got him in trouble... i love the lyrics because my thinking gets me in trouble too sometimes.
"My thoughts belong in a book in a store Where they're silently read, but spoken no more"
lovelovelove i swear, these nashville boys.....
I Love Nashville Boys. Tyler wrote this song for this girl who lived down the street from him and she would not speak to him so he though hmm what if i write her a letter? so he did. And then she rejected him all over again. Man, why cant i have a guy like that! how can u reject the lad for tryin? a letter? how sweet!!
Aww, he's so sweet! I love his songwriting cos he's just sooo romantic :) Seriously, I don't even have a crush on him, but I would date him just because he's such an amazing songwriter and could you imagine someone writing you a song like this? He should have played this to that girl, theres no way she could have rejected him then. Unless she's crazy. I love how he puts things into words in such a great way as well. Especially "My thoughts belong in a book in a store Where they're silently read, but spoken no more" ...he's kind of a genuis :)
