(Reach Up For The) Sunrise Lyrics

Now the time has come
The music's between us
Though the night seems young
Is at an end
Only change will bring
You out of the darkness
In this moment everything is born again

Reach up for the sunrise
Put your hands into the big sky
You can touch the sunrise
Feel the new day enter your life

Reach up for the sunrise
Put your hands into the big sky
You can touch the sunrise
Feel the new day enter your life

Now the fireball burns
We go round together
As the planet turns into the light
Something more than dreams to
Watch out for each other
Coz we know what it means to be alive

Reach up for the sunrise
Put your hands into the big sky
You can touch the sunrise
Feel the new day enter your life

Reach up for the sunrise
Put your hands into the big sky
You can touch the sunrise
Feel the new day enter your life

Feel the new day enter your life
Feel the new day

Reach up for the sunrise
Put your hands into the big sky
You can touch the sunrise
Feel the new day enter your life

Reach up for the sunrise
Put your hands into the big sky
You can touch the sunrise
Feel the new day enter your life

Reach up for the sunrise
Put your hands into the big sky
You can touch the sunrise
Feel the new day enter your life

Wahey, first one to comment on Duran Duran's comeback song! I love this song. I liked their earlier stuff but if you listen carefully, it's like they've brought back the sound of the 80's a little bit in this track. They've got the 80's flavour in there with a bit of a modern sophisticated pop sound to go with it. Simon Le Bon's voice is still great and Duran Duran are back! What more can we ask for?

This song is no doubt about the rebirth of Duran Duran, the original five. But also, Simon always claimed that music comes in cycles (maybe it was Nick too). From what they've said, I got the feeling that the eighties was a bright time for them, then it got gloomy but now they're back and having fun again.

Duran Duran rocks my face off. This is a great song to wake up to. It has a feel like they are shedding an old skin and becoming more fresh and vibrant than ever. Long live DD!

This song is amazing! I used to love DD, but the past recent years, I went off them.

My take is this song was more a morale booster to DD themselves here in the Wendy Laister management era than to their fans. "Get up... you can do it... believe in yourself, do it one more time."

This said, to me this song is emblematic of everything wrong with the Laister Era. The song's an orange juice ad. Not worth of Seven/Ragged Tiger DD at all.
