Gimme Danger Lyrics
Gimme danger little stranger
And I feel with you at ease
Gimme danger little stranger
And I feel your disease
There's nothing in my dreams
Just some ugly memories
Kiss me like the ocean breeze
Now if you will be my lover
I wish you were insane
But you can't be my master
I will do you anything
There's nothing left alive
But a pair of glassy eyes
Raise my feelings one more time
Find a little stranger
Say you're gonna feel my hand
say gotta gimme danger wild little stranger
Honey gonna feel my hand
Swear you gonna feel my hand
Swear you gonna feel my hand
Gimme danger
And I feel with you at ease
Gimme danger little stranger
And I feel your disease
There's nothing in my dreams
Just some ugly memories
Kiss me like the ocean breeze
I wish you were insane
But you can't be my master
I will do you anything
There's nothing left alive
But a pair of glassy eyes
Raise my feelings one more time
Say you're gonna feel my hand
say gotta gimme danger wild little stranger
Honey gonna feel my hand
Swear you gonna feel my hand
Swear you gonna feel my hand
Gimme danger

Iggy explained it was about how he didn't want anything to do with girls around the raw power era, because they got in the way between him and his music. he was only interest in the ones who gave him trouble. this is it.
As you can see, I LOVE this song! It means sooo much to me. It's hard to describe but every time I hear those opening notes...incredible. And I'm not even sick of it yet! I listen to it to give me motivation when I have to do something hard or important & the album it's from, Raw Power, is quite possibly the best album ever. I think what makes the song special is James Williamson's amazing guitar playing along with the ballad-type structure of minor chords. And of course Iggy's howling. This song is best listened to as loud as you can stand it in headphones!
This is my favorite Stooges song. It seems like it's sort of the same message as I Wanna Be Your Dog and Dirt, just sort of what happens when you give up on all hope and start to want the bad.
It's raw and heartwrenching sound got my haws up first time I heard it...today... like you said, the first few notes signaled my psyche. To be young again ...bodies tugging ...lights out..music playing..great effect.i miss those days. Keep a journal I say...write it down...and when you're alone and the lights are down, sipping somethin' get down with your bad self and live again... Marcia in Modesto xo
i agree with "gimme danger", in my opinion raw power is the best stooges album. every song is absolutely amazing, and best listened to at full volume. although all the stooges albums are fantastic, raw power is in my opinion the most consistent one, with every track being brilliant. gimme danger is, as the others said, related to iggy's habit of getting with the dangerous women. i mean, c'mon, the reason he got into heroin was because of the cockettes, a theatre troupe from san fransisco, who introduced iggy to the drug. this is an account from tina fantusi, a 14 year old girl who was a member of the troupe, so it may not be true.
god damn i love this song, i agree 100% with the above
