This was the first Fiery Furnaces song I ever heard, late one night on Brave New Waves. I downloaded a few more of their songs, and in less than a week, owned both of their CDs.

This was the first FF song I heard too, and I fell in love. It was the single version, the one with the verse at the end where half of it is played backwards. I have this dream that someday I'll be able to play those parts forward and figure out what the verse says. Then my life will be complete.

The last verse on the EP version, including the backwards parts, goes like this:

Is marijuana legal in Denmark? Maybe they were thinking of the Netherlands...

Denmark because of Kristiana. (it's the old name for oslo but thees also a part called freetown christiania)

To teiladnam I think they mean marijuana is just very hard to come by in Iceland. I don't know for sure but its probably hard to grow there and there probably isn't a lot smuggled in either, not a big enough population to support the cost.
