Fell Down the Stairs Lyrics
You fell down the stairs into my arms
And swiftly ran the other way
And I heard the steady swell of applause
The two drunk kids, trying to figure out which way was home
they got lost as they were taking off each other’s clothes
They realized there was a hole in the boat
And with no lifesaver you try your best to float
And eventually the sky did return
And I was there outside in green
And I watched the world being reborn, ‘Till one a.m.
So I thought I’d let you know
It was beautiful, slow dancing to tunes of Billie Holiday
The city looked wonderful that way
And love just like blood, will always stain.
And if I could reverse it, I don't think that it'd be worth it because i know in my heart i would never let you tumble to the ground.
no, I’d never let you fall
And swiftly ran the other way
And I heard the steady swell of applause
The two drunk kids, trying to figure out which way was home
they got lost as they were taking off each other’s clothes
They realized there was a hole in the boat
And with no lifesaver you try your best to float
And I was there outside in green
And I watched the world being reborn, ‘Till one a.m.
So I thought I’d let you know
It was beautiful, slow dancing to tunes of Billie Holiday
The city looked wonderful that way
no, I’d never let you fall

best song for singing along. second grade in a good way.
I love tilly and the wall, saw them with bright eyes, i fell in love. The girls are gorgeous!
this reminds me of two friends getting together. and it not working out. but the friends not regretting it either. i love this band. <3
this song is great live....actually all tilly and the wall is better live than on cd. i too saw them with bright eyes (awesome) and coco rosie(weird, more performance art than music but a cool black emcee that wore a feathered headdress) and they were sick..
oh and the line "And love just like blood, will always stain" - how fucking amazing is that??
I saw this band with Bright Eyes and Coco Rosie too! Walked out a proud owner of a Tilly shirt and a cd.
The song (and the whole album Wild Like Children) is about the trials and experimentation and love and depression and whatnot of youth.
favourite tilly song.
LOVE the part where the music stops (and if I could reverse it, I don't think that it'd be worth it...) and the clapping, it's just so nice.
agreed.
The best song ever. "And love, just like blood, will always stain." - probably the best line I've ever heard. The lyrics are AMAZING.
