Rock 'N' Roll Lies Lyrics
There's too much silence in her night
She calls herself an angel, and she comes to town
I said L-O-N-D-O-N
Just so she can fall
There's something about the way she walks, you know
It suits the city streets so well and yet
No one's heard her band yet, but they play real well
Oh yeah, here it comes baby, and there's nothing to say
Here it comes now, you don't care anyway
He sees your eyes, you're just the rock'n'roll eyes
Oh but it's just lies, babe, it's just the rock'n'roll lies
You've seen the man, he calls out for a drink, and you're all
You're all tied up in your backstage lines
And you, you just can't move a muscle
Six in the morning and you rise and you fall, you got to
You got to grab what you can
Here comes your man, baby, he's a winner, yeah
He's a gunslinger
Oh yeah, here it comes baby, and there's nothing to say
Here it comes now, you don't care anyway
He sees your eyes, you're just the rock'n'roll eyes
Oh but it's just lies, babe, it's just the rock'n'roll lies
Oh baby, when you say my name I get, such a thrill inside
She says there's something in the way that I look at her
Yeah, I guess it's right here in my eyes
I can't lie
And here it comes now, there's nothing to say
Here it comes now, you don't care anyway
You see those eyes, they're just a rock'n'roll eyes
Oh just like mine, babe, they're just a rock'n'roll eyes
Oh it's just the lies, babe, it's just the rock'n'roll lies
Oh it's just the lies, man, it's just the rock'n'roll lies
She calls herself an angel, and she comes to town
I said L-O-N-D-O-N
Just so she can fall
There's something about the way she walks, you know

Johnny once said this song was about "People who push past on the guestlist at gigs". I see how this makes sense, especially the lyric "You're all tied up in your back stage lines, you just can't move a muscle"
She calls herself an angel, and she comes to town I said L-O-N-D-O-N Just so she can fall
This song is pure genius. Album of the year 2004.
Definitly an epic of a song, and a great album. Can't wait to pick up a copy, north american release 0ct 26. Though it interesting how the LPs and singles prior to album release have changes to the songs. This band is actually progressively improving their music with each new release. Actually the LP of this song is extremely different, a different sound with the fundemental lyrics being the same. Its hard to tell which one is better.
Awesome Song.
clearly you all have a decent concept of what this song is about. no need for me to educate you.
"No one's heard her band yet, but they play real well "
I swear, I hear "No one's heard her band yet, and no one will" here.
I'm pretty sure NeoSatoshi is right.
Johnny does say no ones heard her band yet and no one will because again this song is about maired from the queen of noize, i found this out the other day when looking for old footage of razorlight and i found a gig they did at the barfly and instead of 'she calls herself an angel and she comes to town' johnny says 'she calls herself the queen of noize and she comes to town' so im guessing he changed the lyrics around when he finished it with maired
I think St. martani is right. In the single version it does say "but they play real well" and is a generally slower version I think. On the album it says "and no-one will". I prefer the single version. It's a great song either way.
these lyrics are so wrong i don't even want to bother trying to correct it
