Dawn On A Funeral Day Lyrics

Did you ever realize why there are no stars in the sky?
Because they're on the ground
The air is brown
We're trapped in this town
Let me go - I can't breathe
I drag myself through the debris
I never felt more alone than on this starry road

The air is warm but I feel grey
The chill of dawn on a funeral day
(I lie in unrest) While heavy dirt falls to my chest
(I fade away) And the hollow phantoms stay

Imagination in a chokehold, I've been steamrolled by gold records
Inspectors are watching over me, under lock and key
Chalk my outline; they'd talk of this if I'd died from a broken heart
They've taken art, turned it to something they think (We'll buy)

The air is warm but I feel grey
The chill of dawn on a funeral day
(I lie in unrest) While heavy dirt falls to my chest
(I fade away) And the hollow phantoms stay

My blood is their liquid vitamin
Their madness festers under their skin

The air is warm but I feel grey
The chill of dawn on a funeral day
(I lie in unrest) While heavy dirt falls to my chest
(I fade away) And the hollow phantoms stay

I have never felt so alone in my whole life

love this song one of my favorites i personally think its about the record company and how their so restricting on their music(Imagination in a chokehold, I've been steamrolled by gold records Inspectors are watching over me, under lock and key Chalk my outline; they'd talk of this if I'd died from a broken heart They've taken art, turned it to something they think (We'll buy) )

I can't believe no one comented on this song yet, because it's so lyrically beautiful. I feel exactly like this song, really, as though I could be somewhere else but something keeps pulling me back, and I'm so alone because of it. Everything surrounding me is so perfect and manufactured that I feel I have no chance whatsoever. Might as well just drop dead and let everything pass me by because I don't seem to be making much of a difference anyway. I think the very last line is self explanatory.

This is a great song. Very Alkaline Trio-ish vibe to it. Pretty much she's surrounded by a world she can't stand and its suffocating her. I especially like the buried alive imagery in the chorus. Not my favorite off the new disc but nevertheless good stuff.

great song this one. first tsunami bomb one i ever heard. i interpret it as fear, oppresion and paranoia in the modern world, and i agree with tsunamichick about the record company restrictions...thats probably their embodiment of this. love it.
