This song is about cool cats like myself who know where they got it going on and how they got there, "smooth and confident," and know what the ladies want, "the ladies love to stroke me." Annoying people who seem to attract attention wherever they go and people think they're better humans just for knowing us ("everywhere I go, I make the scene") and our names get dropped around - "Oh, me and Charise were at this totally bum opening night at Sharkfin but then Steven John showed up and things went out the roof! ..he's such a deadly handsome man!"

I agree with Steven. No need to stand up or back down I'll cruise right through.

It's also almost the complete opposite personality of John in real life.

This song is SO catchy. I introduced two of my old friends to it, and it became an antham of ours while going on trips to concerts. =)

Maybe it's about temptation or something like that.

Mephistopheles is another name for Satan.

And it fits in with the rest of the song too.

i think hes just mocking the typical arrogant alpha male types. cuz ive met him and yeah he doesnt seem like that at all. hes a really really nice guy and wears regular clothes (not calvin klein =p) so i really think hes just sort of making fun of guys who think that being driven around in limos and wearing designer clothes make the world revolve around them. maybe hes actually referring to someone he knows, the line "do you know who i am?" like hes playing a guessing game and the rest of the lines are clues to who hes talking about? maybe? hmmmmm

is it true Woz has a Cat named Mephistopheles? wink wink
