Slow Down Lyrics

All of my answers
and all my reasons
and All my excuses
they never rest

Cause all of my answers
they keep on changing
I spend my life waiting
for the next

No,
I just keep on moving
No,
I just keep on pushing forward
No,
I've forgot what I was looking for
No.

All their illusions, I wont believe them
I'll always believe what I can't forget
cause all of their reasons
They keep on changing
I spend my life waiting for the next

No,
I just keep on moving
No,
I just keep on pushing forward
No,
I've forgot what I was looking for

Well I'd trade wisdom back in for innocence
to get away from all my lies
I'd trade wisdom back in for innocence
to get away from getting by
I'd trade wisdom back in for innocence
for just one look
through those eyes.

(All of my answers and all my reasons and All my excuses they never rest

Cause all of my answers they keep on changing I spend my life waiting for the next

No, I just keep on moving No, I just keep on pushing forward No, I've forgot what I was looking for No.)

I feel this portion of the song is about how life is ever changing and how a person has to persevere through the difficulties in life.

(All their illusions, I wont believe them I'll always believe what I can't forget cause all of their reasons They keep on changing)

The above portion seems to be about how a person can be lied to and how people can try to manipulate you. The line about believing what he cant forget seems to be about a painful life lesson he learned, and not wanting to repeat that mistake.

(Well I'd trade wisdom back in for innocence to get away from all my lies I'd trade wisdom back in for innocence to get away from getting by I'd trade wisdom back in for innocence for just one look through those eyes.)

Wishing back his innocence seems to mean that he would rather not have gained the knowledge he has acquired from painful life lessons and that he would rather go back to being naive. He would give all that he has learned from life back just to be an innocent person that isn't jaded by life.

I adore the sound of this song, its so soft and calming...It makes me want to cry.

The incredible sadness over the struggle of life is obvious here. Wishing to be innocent and young instead of wise and sad. I think we all want that at some time in our lives. One of my top ten all time favorites.
