Snow Day Lyrics

The window fogs from my breath
My face pressed up close, us close against
Catching the snowfall under a beam of streetlight
And praying for accumulation all through the night

These confrontations puncture the skin
Reveal evidence that you’re easily broken
You’re so easily broken
Exposed and relentlessly bleeding from the cracks
At that age where everything’s seemingly life or death

Please let the snow swallow the streets whole
Keep the bus from coming
Let us stay at home
So we can avoid the daily drudgery
The cruelty fueled from laughter that will echo in our sleep

Seasons, weakening the hold
The blades dulled from the frost that hints at snow
Warming the engine slowly turns
Stuttering awoken from the sounds of the shovels scraping concrete
At that age where everything’s seemingly life or death

Adrenaline fuels my
Fist grinds my teeth through sleep

Awwh. I love this song. I think it's about a boy who is bullied at school, and he is hoping for a snow day so he can escape the tormenting for one day and enjoy himself.

I really agree with belleautumn. This song is extremely cute. The part "at that age where everything's seemingly life or death" shows how he takes everything so seriously, so the bullying is tearing him apart, and all he wants is to have a day free of all the pain.

I love this song. I sing it whenever I really need a Snow Day. Some days its a prayer. I agree with Belleautumn. Just one day to repair the wounds... Just one day to stop and be free.

This song reminds me of how mean teenage girls are to each other. I can identify with it, because everyone needs a break from constantly being judged and being tormented and teased and made fun of and being brought into stupid catty plans and the list goes on and on. This is the age when things are seemingly life or death, because, yes, we do overreact as teenagers, but we don't recognize that fully yet.

Sweet! I'm the first guy to comment on this one! (Unless some of you chicks are dudes saying you're chicks. . . . . .)

Anywho, I think this songs stretches past school into life in general. I wish I could have a Snow Day and just stay at home, but once you get out of school you have to keep going and can't avoid the daily drudgery.

i agree with Mamasanscar... it seems nobody can avoid the daily drudgery. There is always going to be some complication either small or large in life that's why i love this song so much. A snow day symbolizes staying home avoiding what needs to be done and all the problems you have accumulated or others have put on you. I love it. Even though it doesn't snow here i think of this song everytime i want to stay home and just relax and avoid my problems

This song reminds me of highschool. There is always the one day you don't want to go because some stupid teenage girls are spreading rumors or making fun of you. been there. done that.

This songs makes me cry. It reminds me of the people in my life who lie, judge, and torment me. The people who I consider my "friends". I hate them sometimes. I love when he says "You're so easily broken". It is so true.
