@Ashes of the Wake is there a reference I am missing? To me this is completely about an internal struggle, possibly just with self-hatred, and attempts to feel ok with himself. In my opinion, this could be about a relationship. Possibly one of those ones where one pours their heart and soul into it, and the other pushes away, leaving the other empty inside. I don't need to go further, but that's what I think... just listen to this or read the lyrics and think about one of those relationships where you begin to hate the other because they wont take advice and they keep everything inside and wont let you in on aiding them. That's where I start to hate them, and threaten them that it can't go on any longer, hence, teaching them fear (You taught me hate, I'll teach you fear). That's just what I think... and the eternal winter thing is well, we all know winter can really suck and put one in a bad mood, and when a relationship just stays like that where one isn't interacting with the other as far as talking or being assertive, that can really put you down as well and then in the end begin to piss the fuck out of you.

i think this song is about nuclear war. "eternal winter" that is nuclear term. "frost on the breath of life" is the word for killing people by trying to kill other things. or it could be like the nuclear radiation on ur lungs or somethin i dont no. thats the thing with lamb of god. there songs are like a story. this is a talented fucking band and i love the way they think. randy is awsome
