The song seems to be about the impowerment of religion/God. I'm not what I'd consider a religious person, but that is what it seems to be about. I think this is an amazing song.
The song is about never giving up, even when you see no way out. Never stop fighting for yourself, because no one else will. You deserve all that you want, and all that you can achieve. If you aren't striving to better yourself, then you aren't "alive".
This song is about believing in yourself when every thing is against you. It also shows in the song that someone always believes in you no matter what you are going through.
I wasnt too sure what this song was about as i aint that good at finding the meaning of songs. But after reading what 'sting06' said, i agree with that. Not the best Alter Bridge song, but still good!
am I the only one that gets a religion/spirtetul meaning out this song? that its saying that no mater what sh@t on takes that God is aways there seeing our positive side and makes use go on. Screming DON"T GIVE UP!

i see it as someone presenting the option of christianity to someone, and showing them that they have the strength inside to stand up and be who they are meant to be by serving god, and truly seeing "how it feels to be alive" by accepting the love of the savior. IMO a brother song to "Metalingus"
