Placebo Headwound Lyrics

Where does outer space end?
It's sort of hard to imagine
Is it real?
Is it nothing, nothing?

Because it's not so clear anymore to me

Why do birds always fly south
When sometimes it's warm
In your headwound?
Is that nothing, nothing?

Because its not so clear anymore to me

And if God hears all my questions
Well, how come there's never an answer?
Is it nothing, nothing?

Keep the song title in mind. Everyone is asking themselves these questions now and then. Wayne does it himself and at the same time he realizes that the questions are lame (he doesn't even finish his question about the birds). So he's calling it a placebo headwound: a moment where these questions pop up in mind, although you know there's never an answer and it doesn't really matter anyway. I like to think that its alright to have questions like this sometimes, but only when you realize it's just a placebo headwound. This is only a interpretation off course...

My Interpretation

I can't make heads or tails of what this song is supposed to mean, but I'd just like to say the break with "And if God hears all my questions..." is really well done, and that this song in general kicks ass.

Whiffet- wow, what a synic (is that how you spell that?) the music is beautiful, and the "stupid, trite questions" are still unanswered, and that's always going to be something to write about, and the answers are always going to be longed for.

yeah whiffet has no idea what hes talking about these questions have long been unanswered and regardless of whether or not coyne has written better songs it doesnt mean that this one has no meaning

I have to say i kind of agree with whiffet. I love the Lips, but I feel like they have been too simplistic when it comes to religion.

"And if God hears all my questions Well, how come there's never an answer?" is a dumb question that is really not a good atheist argument. I have no problem with atheists, and again I love the Lips, but a dumb question.

good song, but lame message. i love the lips, don't get me wrong. but this is the age old philosophical fake conundrum that asks a bunch of stupid, trite questions. not impressed really. wayne's other songs are better. (be my head, psychiatric explorations, etc.)
