Long And Lonely Road Lyrics

I took a walk down a country road
I know this might sound dumb maybe
But I was all alone

If you think that I’m going somewhere
Take me hand I’ll lead you there
Don’t want to have to call you up from a pay phone

It’s a long and lonely road
It’s a long and lonely road
If you don’t like it
Then you don’t take it
It’s a long and lonely road

I took a walk down a country road
I know this might sound dumb maybe
But I was all alone

If you think that I’m going somewhere
Take me had I’ll lead you there
Don’t want to have t call you up from a pay phone

I know it is so hard for you and I to be apart
I’m slowly fading, you’re my lady
That keeps me moving on

It’s a long and lonely road
It’s a long and lonely road
If you don’t like it
Then please don’t take it
It’s a long and lonely road

Honest promise you will be missed

DUDE, this song is like AMAZING!! 4 comments is pathetic! The metaphorical significance of this song is so simple but true!

"If you think that I’m going somewhere Take me hand I’ll lead you there" - my favourite part. Even though hes on this 'long and lonely road' he's on it for a reason. Hes GOING SOMEWHERE. somewhere worth taking this road for. Christianity and all that comes with it is far from easy! but the reward in the end.. and the destination if you like is WELL WORTH the sacrifice! love it.

Christianity is a long and lonely road.

I know man. Christianity is the narrow, long, lonely, HARD road. But at the end of the road is life. I'm sure you've heard this verse before, but others may not have.

Matthew 7:13-14.

"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."

You need to be devoted to "walk" the "road" worshipping God and such. If you can't handle it, don't even bother. That's what it means to me. Kind of funny, I don't usually listen to Christian Rock, but the music really sounds more punk than christian. I like this CD.

This song was written by Hawk Nelson's old drummer, Dave Clark. Being on the road so much is tiresome, & that's what this song is about. Shortly after this song was released, Dave left the band to get married to long-time girlfriend Laura.

sweeeeeeeeeet

I think this song has duel meanings, it could be that Christianity is hard sometimes when the world wants us to worhsip the gods of sex, and fame, and money, and if we don't go that way we can get very lonely, but also you can take this song literaly and say that being a touring band could be a long and lonely road...away from friends and family for a very long amount of time

i agree with zerahaha 4 comments is pathetic. this song is awesome all their songs awesome cuz they use all these metaphors to symbolize what God is using us for.and people are like "what does this mean" come on people get with it. I have heard people say "well they dont tlk about God" they dont need to say His name but on their song "Is Forever enough" I believe he is praying to God saying "Can't hold this in and keep it quiet any longer, I'm falling in and now this feeling's getting stronger" he saying God I can't handle this I'm falling and I need you. how awesome is that man wow

I think this song talks about how Christianity is a choice. It can be a lonely choice, but the singer is taking it anyway. He wants his loved ones to come too, but even if they don't, he will still go. He will, however be sad and miss his loved ones if they do not follow this road with him.

I kinda have my doubts that this song is referring to Christianity as a long and lonely road, bc I don't think they would encourage that "if you don't like it then you don't take it" if referring to Christianity. My guess is that xxtakeme was right when they said it was about the band being on the road so much.
