This song seems to be about after breaking up with someone and not being able to completely let go of them.
to me it seems that this song is about He wants to break up with her but hes afraid he'll regret but he swears if he does do it, hes not coming back.........................My American Heart flippin rocks..these guys will b huge.
This band is fricking amazing! I really like this song and how he sings it.
i think that he's writing about how he wanted to take a break from a girl, but he didn't wanna completely throw the relationship away. the girl has other thoughts, to just throw it away for good, and she does. he knows that he's not going to just "fade away like that" and that there's going to be a scar on her for quite awhile.
