Say Yes! To Michigan! Lyrics
Demonstrate I was
Raised from the start
By a priest and
The maid on the part
Still know what
To wear on my back
Michigan!
Ponshewaing!
Cadillac!
If I ever meant to go away
I was raised, I was raised
In the place, in the place
Still I often think of going back
To the farms, to the farms
Golden arms, golden arms
Start to remind me
If the lakes took
The place of the sea
If the cars drove themselves
Way to be!
Opposite the trains moving in
Rivers run interstate, Michigan!
Still I never meant to go away
I was raised, I was raised
In the place, in the place
Still I often think of going back
To the farms, to the farms
Golden arms, golden arms
Tried to change the
Made in Michigan
I was raised, I was raised
In the place, in the place
Part to remind me
Raised from the start
By a priest and
The maid on the part
Still know what
To wear on my back
Michigan!
Ponshewaing!
Cadillac!
I was raised, I was raised
In the place, in the place
Still I often think of going back
To the farms, to the farms
Golden arms, golden arms
Start to remind me
The place of the sea
If the cars drove themselves
Way to be!
Opposite the trains moving in
Rivers run interstate, Michigan!
I was raised, I was raised
In the place, in the place
Still I often think of going back
To the farms, to the farms
Golden arms, golden arms
Tried to change the
Made in Michigan
I was raised, I was raised
In the place, in the place
Part to remind me

Amazingly catchy song, makes me want to go to Michigan...
Hopefully he's able to follow through on his plans to do all fifty states
I was trying to explain the old "Say 'Yes!' To M!ch!gan!" advertising campaign to my wife a few weeks ago, then i bought this cd and when i looked at the track listings and there was a song named after that old Michigan tourism jingle. I love it.
I've just fallen in love with this guy: From Michigan, sings about Michigan, AND plays oboe and vibraphone.
neato song. love the instruments in it =)
Michigan can be a nice place. (I've lived here all 20 years of my life.) Basically everything he writes about it is true. However, most of the album focuses on the negative issues... well, I suppose there are quite a few of them. But, I love this state. I am glad he wrote an album about it.
I live in Michigan too, makes me sad he missed my town, but he got holland and that's close enough.
I wonder why he didn't too like K-zoo or Gr
I really enjoy this song. It's upbeat and catchy, I want to go to Michigan too!
I definitely live in Michigan. Shout out to Sufjan. Amazing music.
Noodles - I live in Kzoo! I wish he had.
I like the bag-pipey souding oboe during the chorus.
