Asleep in Perfection Lyrics

Over the airwaves tonight,
Sailing by a love lonely light,
Isn't it blue, but isn't it brighter
Than the pilot of a domestic flight

Well under this low, lonely light
I might be still in sight,
You were a girl, now you're a wife
Do not these memories stir you
From your long and peaceful night's

Sleep in perfection
Asleep in Perfection

A soul's misdirection, directed at you.

Waiting for Summer to come,
Will you wear a rainbow on
And outside your window something grows
In your garden, is it content
Well that's not what I need tonight,
Maybe I don't think right,
Or maybe I lack that insight
And only the numb or the peaceful might

Sleep in perfection,
Asleep in Perfection

A soul's misdirection directed at you.

Over the airwaves tonight,
Sailing by a love lonely light,
Isn't it blue, or is it the sight of you
Set to fall

Asleep in Perfection

This is a sad sad song. Unrequited love for a past flame, now married to someone else, perhaps growing content with someone else. But the narrator cannot forget her.

Wow...no-one has commented on this song? Such a pity...I suppose beautiful music is rarely mainstream...but this is the most beautiful song ever!!! I heard it once about 6 years ago and it has stuck with me ever since...I just downloaded it a week ago and it's as lovely as I remembered it. I'm not sure what it means...I think it's about newlyweds? I think the new husband is looking at her and imagining their life together and just thinks she's perfect. love, elisa

I can't believe nobody commented except one person! This is beautiful. I heard it years ago, and have always played it obsessively. It's amazing. the new version on "Crowded Hour" is equally good. Fantastic.

Love Han xx I'd love to hear others thoughts

Actually, i think he's writing about unrequited love. 'A souls misdirection', directed at a married woman. The first few lines sounds like he's flying out of town.

'You were a girl, now you're a wife Do not these memories stir you From your long and peaceful night's'

Perhaps they'd once been together, when she was younger. Sounds like he's kind curious how she can sleep so peacefully when he's yearning.

i agree with Guffle, i think this song is about unrequited love to a married woman. My heart bleeds for the man in love with a woman he can't have. Unrequited love is the worst form of torture one can endure.

Ahhh. This song is so beautiful. No words can describe it. I definitely agree with the unrequited love thing.
