Slowly, Through a Vector Lyrics

passing slowly though a vector
damp with fog the bog
that grows the former business sector
with my laugh, my lonely minion
only i can save the lives
that blink within this canyon

we're passing slow

drink the colors of the night time
if you were wrong
then i was right
and this will be the right time
i‘ll display my disaffection
(you brought me up
you spit me out)
out across the city
loud and proud in your direction

we're passing slow

when i get to your apartment
i climb the rail
outside the building
a band of them
were in your apartment
they tied you up
unwound, unwilling
i watch them cut
watch them touch
watch them do
what they came to do
and in i come
to lick it up
clean up what is left of you

ha ha ha
show me what you got

"drink the colors of the night time" is seriously my favorite line. it says a lot with few words; it seems to bottle up a whole relationships emotions into one line. it could mean to drink in order to forget someone, drink because you're happy, etc. say anything FTW

From Max's Reddit AMA:

"vector is about watching someone you love hurt themselves emotionally while you drift through life, wishing you could help them."

I love singing along to the "we're passing slow" part.
I think this song might be about having a fear of someone cheating on him with a person who could damage her.

I'm...insanely jealous, nikznnattie. The envy I'm feeling right now is eating a hole through the lining of my stomach.

sigh

Someone is assaulting a chick and it's not Max.

Alright, if we take a look at this from the "rock opera" perspective, I think this song is the character (Max Bemis), walking through an old abandoned city. A Vector is an organism that holds a disease. Its a very business and capitalism oriented city, and Max is there to tear it down with his words.

Other than that, I have no clue what the apartment part is about. Except maybe "a band of them" being the industry, and the person being a band, or the metaphor of bands trying to make it these days.

this song brings to mind, going with the rock opera theme again, the music industry ("you brought me up / you spit me out")

Ha, ha, ha, show me what you got---i agree, SO FUN to sing along to when i saw them live.

i dont think the song is about sex at all. i think 'crawl inside her' is a metaphor for getting inside her head. he plays mindgames and so does she (the line about playing games by the flies inside her brain). they both play mindgames but max is better. he is the spider she is the fly.
