Here Today Lyrics
And if I say,
I really knew you well what would your answer be?
If you were here today
Ooh- Ooh- Ooh, here to-day.
Well knowing you,
you'd probably laugh and say that we were world's apart.
If you were here today
Ooh- Ooh- Ooh, here to-day.
But as for me,
I still remember how it was before,
and I am holding back these tears no more
Ooh- Ooh Ooh, I love you, Ooh.
What about the time we met?
Well, I suppose that you could say that we were playing hard to get.
Didn't understand a thing,
but we could always sing.
What about the night we cried,
beacuse there was no reasons left to keep it all inside?
Didn't understood a word,
but you were alwas there - with a smile.
And if I say,
I really loved you and was glad you came along.
If you were here today.
Ooh- Ooh- Ooh, for you were in my song.
Ooh- Ooh- Ooh, here to-day.
I really knew you well what would your answer be?
If you were here today
you'd probably laugh and say that we were world's apart.
If you were here today
I still remember how it was before,
and I am holding back these tears no more
Well, I suppose that you could say that we were playing hard to get.
Didn't understand a thing,
but we could always sing.
beacuse there was no reasons left to keep it all inside?
Didn't understood a word,
but you were alwas there - with a smile.
I really loved you and was glad you came along.

i'm shocked no one has commented on this song... maybe not enough know about it. this song is beautiful and yes, about john lennon. paul wrote this right after the murder of john... you can tell they really loved each other. the irony is that ballroom dancer comes on next and i believe that's about how john and paul used to "fight like cats in dogs til they made it up in the ballroom" which is a metaphor for the studio... just a thought. peace.
Paul wrote this song about John Lennon.
I cried when I first heard this song!
It's just so beautiful! And how many times have you heard someone say "I Love You" to a friend? Especially a boy? Go Paul!!!
handsdown4dbeatles: For the record, I tell my best friend - a fellow male - that I love him a lot, actually. Whenever he feels down or I say something by accident that hurts him. I think that, in order to be close, dear friends have to be able to admit their love for one another - people just don't often realize that "love" doesn't necessarily mean "romance."
Anyway, wow. This song is just so touching.
so touching! i cry each time i hear this one.
this song is really touching.. its Paul's tribute to John. Occasionally when Paul sings this one in a concert he actually cries (such as the recent Amoeba Records concert) which adds to the song. Thanks Paul for a touching tribute to John
This always touches me....
this song is sad, but great tribute to john lennon
definitely about john
anyone that knows about there relationship; knows they struggled early on to read/write music the meeting where they both tried to play it cool; before paul joined up with john/george
and the grateful way paul says goodbye - really loved you and was glad you came along...
as if the meeting between two(2) icons and friends...was simply a run into...
