Keeping It Together Lyrics

Drugs stopped working when I was born
but all the fairy dust I breath is doing nothing to relieve the strife of broken Autumn leaves in the sand
But I'm still high on the music
as my inner child cries for she may lose it
And the incense in my eyes can't save the sin between your thighs
Because you stabbed me with your lies
You're not the only one that's broken

Whore fuck your drugs I introduced you anyway
You're a slave
Spun undone I met you in an alley way
and I'm never ok
Cause I'm pretending like I'm keeping it together...

My bones are scratched and so forlorn
but all the Prozac that I take is only lulling me to make up
this forced smile that is fake for all the doctors
But I'll get by for the music
Stand as an object so they can use it
So go snort your loved white powder
I'll just play my music louder and get my drugs from the counter at the pharmacy

Whore fuck your drugs I introduced you anyway
You're a slave
Spun undone I met you in an alley way
and I'm never ok
Cause I'm pretending like I'm keeping it together...
Cause I'm pretending like I'm keeping it together...
And they'll never know

I can really relate to that. I think this song is saying that sometimes even doctors can't see the pain behind the smile. A lot of doctors just want to get you out of their office, and not deal with you themselves, so they end up giving you some anti-depressant that doesn't work for everyone.

My favoite song of them all! I agree with kaytothelee. Its about a person with depression that tries to 'keep it together' but even what the doctor gives you wont help.

"Whore fuck your drugs I introduced you anyway You're a slave" I can really understand this, it's like when you introduce your friend to something and then they take over that thing. Doesn't have to be drugs, it could be anything.

i love this song.

it reminds me a lot of the book "prozac nation." like you don't need illegal drugs.. you can just get the doctor to prescribe you some prozac.

"go snort your loved white powder / i'll just play my music louder and get my drugs from the counter at the pharmacy"

..but still, this song is about knowing that the doctor really doesn't give a shit about how you reallyyyy feel.. and they really don't want to hear your sob story. so they just throw prozac at you and you're supposed to feel better.

Why has Katy only got one album? She's fantastic; she could make it big.
