Take Me to the Hospital Lyrics
Hold my hand, it's shaking bad
I'm going to the doc
I pay him, he'll fix me up
I think I've got enough
Ambulance, no, costs too much
We'll take a van
If they can't fix me no one can
If they can't fix it no one can
Want you to take me to the H
Take me to the O
Want you to take me to the S
Take me to the P
Want you to take me to the I - T - A - L
Want you to take me to hospital
Hospital
Now I'm losing blood from my veins
They're slowly emptying
I'm bothered by this crimson red
To the color of blood
To the color of a B
The color of a L
To the color of a O
The color of O
To the color of a Deep crimson red
From a little bitty accident
Accident
I scraped up my face
Bounced my cheek on the floor
Because anything worth doing
Is worth getting hurt for
I've made no mistakes
I'm never learning from that
I got no regrets
I want to do it again
Do it A - G - A - I - N
So you can take me to the H
Take me to the O
Want you to take me to the S
Take me to the P
Want you to take me to the I - T - A - L
Want you to take me to the hospital
Because it's the color of a B
The color of a L
To the color of O
The color of O
To the color of a Deep crimson red
From a little bitty accident
You better take me to the H
Take me to the O
Want you to take me to the S
Take me to the P
Want you to take me to the I - T - A - L
Want you to take me to hospital
I'm going to the doc
I pay him, he'll fix me up

This song is incredible. It's amazing live, too.
The only thing I can think of is skateboarding because he talks about it being an accident and then he says he has no regrets, and he wants to do it again.
I thought about it more and maybe it is about drugs or drinking and he is saying he would still do it again.
i think that its about life in general, metaphorical and s**t. like, you do what you want in life, and you may get hurt but enjoy it, and never let that stop you.
i also agree with Dang. the line, "anything worth doing, is worth getting hurt for." sort of gives it away. the more something means, the more it may hurt you, but you always have to take chances... because in the end it'll be worth the pain.
i can't believe this song only has 5 comments, its one of their best. APPREICATEEEEEEEE
This song sends makes the hairs on the back on my neck stand up. Its so awesome when they play it live! (like they have both times i saw them) This song is ment to be listened to LOUDLY! I Love It!
kimber - This is indeed one of there most fantastical songs. To bad its hidden on the Saddle Creek 50 CD.
The first time I heard this song, I had an image in my head that this person had fallen from dancing drunk on a table. Now they're being taken to a hospital.
i love this song. i bet there are kids out there that only know how to spell hospital because of it. for the record, i'm not one of them. haha.
I think people may be thinking about this one too much; despite the line in the middle "anything worth doing's worth getting hurt for" I don't really feel it's supposed to be at all deep. It reminds me of when I cut my finger last year and blood was everywhere and I ended up getting 7 stitches (I was REALLY ANNOYED that I had to go to the hospital), or when my ex hurt himself skating; I think the song is literally just about some seemingly minor, easy-to-get injury that still requires being taken to the hospital, and how if you live your life in a way you won't regret (so, not like a paranoid wuss who's afraid to leave the house), you'll probably injure yourself a few times.
