Pink Frost Lyrics

I want to stop the crying
I want to stop the crying
But she's lying there dying
How can I live when you see what I've done?
How can I live when you see what I've done?
What can I do if she dies?
What can I do if she dies?
What can I do if she's lost?
Just the thought fills my heart with Pink Frost
I thought I was dreaming -
So I didn't heed her screaming
I'm so scared
I'm so scared
She won't move and I'm holding her head
She won't move and I'm holding her head
She's lost...Bye Bye Bye
She's lost...Bye Bye Bye
She's lost...Bye Bye Bye
Pink frost...Bye Bye Bye
I'm really not lying
I'm so scared
I'll have to stop my crying
Now she's dead
What can I do if she dies?
What can I do if she dies?
What can I do if she's lost?
Just the thought fills my heart with Pink Frost
(Oh no!)

One of the very best that came out of the Dunedin Sound. A haunting song that reminds me of the drummer from the Chills who died

Cover art for Pink Frost lyrics by Chills, The

A haunting song about a man with serious problems and a child in need of help.

The baby is unhealthy and neglected at the start of the song, and the singer is feeling melacholy at it's pain, worrying about the consequences when someone finds out. Then comes some thinking on his part (what can I do etc) before an allusion to heart turning cold 'Just the thought fills my heart with Pink Frost'.

The next section is the singer justifying to himself what he's going to do/has done 'I didn't hear her screaming' 'I thought I was dreaming' cementing that it's a baby in the middle of the night, before a sudden realisation of what he's done 'I'm so scared'.

'She won't move and I'm holding her head' - like you would a baby.

Then the final section is some more logical thinking on the part of the singer 'she's lost bye bye bye' before a realisation of what he needs to do 'I'll have to stop my crying' and the following lines. At the end of the song he kills himself, like he killed the baby.
